Minutes of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus - September 22, 2021

• That the minutes of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus meeting, held September 22, 2021, be received and adopted.

DELEGATIONS

3:00 p.m. - Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce

Talia Mckay from the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce and a Board member will join the meeting to discuss tourism statistics from the Tourism Discovery Centre.

(Statistics reports attached at late publishing.)

• That the Visitor Services Network Statistics Program 2020 and 2021 reports from the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce, be received.

4.1

Role of CRD in Relation to Child Care Facilities in Williams Lake

Referred Item - Proposed Establishment of a Regional Economic Development Function

The following recommendation from the Committee of the Whole meeting, held September 9, 2021, and endorsed by the CRD Board at it's meeting on October 1, 2021, is hereby brought forward for discussion by the Caucus:

That the Memorandum from Darron Campbell, Manager of Community Services, dated September 1, 2021, regarding the proposed establishment of a regional economic development function, be received.  Further, that the staff recommendation to merge the CRD's economic development services, in order to gain efficiencies, be supported and that staff be directed to take the appropriate steps for the service merge including an initial referral to the rural caucuses for more detailed discussion.

• That the following recommendation from the Committee of the Whole meeting, held September 9, 2021, be endorsed:
