CALL TO ORDER

As per Ministerial Order No. M192 from the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General

• SCR.2021-1-1

  That members of the public are not permitted to physically attend the January 11, 2021 meeting of the South Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As per Ministerial Order from the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General  the Regional District cannot, at this time, ensure the safety of staff, Caucus members, and members of the public in such circumstances.  Despite this, for the purposes of Division 3 of Part 4 of the Community Charter, the meeting is not to be considered closed to the public.

  Openness, transparency, accessibility, and accountability, in respect of this meeting, will be achieved by the open publishing of the minutes.

Election of Chair

The meeting was called to order.

First call by the Manager of Community Services for nominations for the position of Chair of the South Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2021.

Director Wagner nominated Director MacDonald for the position of Chair of the South Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2021.
Director MacDonald accepted the nomination.

Second call by the Manager of Community Services for nominations for the position of Chair of the South Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2021.

Third call by the Manager of Community Services for nominations for the position of Chair of the South Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2021.

There being no further nominations, the Manager of Community Services declared nominations closed and declared Director Willow MacDonald Chair of the South Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2021.

Adoption of Agenda

  That the agenda be adopted with an additional agenda item to discuss cement slabs for boat launches.

108 Mile Heritage Site Contribution Agreement 2021 – South Cariboo Economic Development

  That the agenda item summary from Beth Holden, Regional Economic & Community Development Officer, dated January 6, 2021, regarding the 108 Heritage Site Contribution Agreement, be received. Further, that the agreement be supported with an annual financial contribution of $7,500, from the South Cariboo Economic Development Budget for a three-year term, and that the appropriate signatories be authorized to execute the agreement.

Procurement of Cement Slabs for Boat Launches

  That staff contact Recreation Site, Trails BC to investigate feasibility of the Regional District procuring cement slabs for boat launches as they become available and report back to the Caucus.
