The meeting was called to order by L. Schick, Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant.

First Call by the Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant for nominations for the position of Chair of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2018.

Director Sorley nominated Director Forseth for the position of Chair of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2018. Director Forseth accepted the nomination.

Second call by the Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant for nominations for the position of Chair of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus.

Third call by the Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant for nominations for the position of Chair of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus.

There being no further nominations, the Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant declared nominations closed and declared Director Forseth Chair of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus for 2018.

    That the minutes of the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus meeting, held February 28, 2018, be received and adopted.

Doina Varzaru, Quality Manager - Interior Roads Ltd., Central Cariboo Region, appeared before the Caucus to provide an update.

    That the letter from the Honourable Claire Trevena, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, dated January 25, 2018, regarding the requests to review the condition of Pigeon Road in the 150 Mile House area and paving of Campbell Road on Fox Mountain, as referred to the Central Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus by the Cariboo Regional District Board at its meeting on February 16, be received.  Further that correspondence be forwarded to Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure staff, introducing Director Delainey, confirming names of remaining Central Cariboo Directors, and requesting confirmation of who should be contacted regarding road concerns in the Central Cariboo (speed limits, paving needs, road conditions, etc).

    That the letter from the Cariboo Direct Farm Market Association, dated April 17, 2018, requesting a financial contribution to the Williams Lake Farmers' Market from the Area D Economic Development Service, be received.  Further, that a contribution of $2,000 from each of Area D and F Economic Development services be made to the Williams Lake Farmers' Market.

    That the Grants for Assistance policy requiring the submission of an application be waived and that $1,000 from the Electoral Area E Grants for Assistance fund be provided to the Williams Lake Farmers' Market.

    That the minutes of the Williams Lake Central Business Improvement Area Association AGM, held April 5, 2018, be received.

    That the email from Jaylyn Byer, Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce, dated April 19, 2018, requesting the Cariboo Regional District to be a funding partner in updating the existing map of the Cariboo region, be received.  Further, that a contribution of $500 from each of the Electoral Area D and F Economic Development Services be made to the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce to assist in updating their existing map of the Cariboo Region.
