  • That the agenda be adopted as presented.

  • ​That the minutes of the North Cariboo Rural Directors Caucus meeting, held January 12, 2021, be received and adopted.

MLA Coralee Oakes will join the meeting to provide an update.

City of Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson and Manager of Economic Develpment & Tourism, Amy Reid, will join the meeting to present the City of Quesnel's request for funding towards improving access to the Quesnel Canyon, and to answer any questions from the Caucus.

  • That the correspondence from city of Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson, dated March 3, 2021, requesting funding towards improving access to the Quesnel Canyon, be received.  Further action at the discretion of the Caucus.

  • That the letter from the High School Rodeos of British Columbia Association requesting sponsorship support for the Senior Provincials scheduled to be held in June 2021, subject to the Provincial Health Order at that time, be received. Further action at the discretion of the Committee.

By Consensus

  • That the agenda item summary from Darron Campbell, Manager of Community Services, dated February 2, 2021, regarding renewal of the contribution agreement with the City of Quesnel to support operation of the Quesnel and District Visitor Information Centre, be received. Further, that the agreement be renewed for an additional three-year term with an increase in the annual contribution to $15,000 each year from the North Cariboo Economic Development function budget. Further, that the appropriate signatories be authorized to execute the renewal agreement.

  • That the agenda item summary from Beth Holden, Regional Economic & Community Development Officer, dated February 25, 2021, regarding the information about the Quesnel Food Security Project, be received. Further, that the Cariboo Regional District Board provide letters of support upon request. Further, that staff direct them to apply for a year-round grant for assistance should they request funding to support a mailout.

  • That the agenda item summary from Lore Schick, Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant, dated March 5, 2021, regarding the appointment of a spokesperson for the Quesnel and District Arts and Recreation Centre Pool Upgrade Referendum, be received. Further, that the Caucus appoint a spokesperson.
