CENTRAL CARIBOO JOINT COMMITTEE (REVISED)

That the report from Ian James, Director of Community Services, City of Williams Lake, dated March 24, 2021, regarding the request from the Western States Hockey League (WSHL), be received. Further, that the recommendation from staff to accept the request from the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) to bring a Jr. A hockey team to the City of Williams Lake be approved with the following conditions:
1. Both parties agree to a year-to-year probationary facility rental agreement to bring a WSHL Jr. A team to the City of Williams Lake, and that a firm commitment to the WSHL will be decided after four consecutive years of league activity and operations in the City.
2. The WSHL Jr. A team acceptance by the City of Williams Lake is contingent on the outcome of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and the Alberta RCMP investigation into player abuse allegations.

That the report from Ian James, Director of Community Services, City of Williams Lake, dated April 12, 2021, regarding an outdoor electronic display sign for the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex, be received. Further, that an amendment to the 2021 Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex capital plan to include a mass notification and announcement system at an estimated cost of $46,000 and an electronic entrance display sign at an estimated cost of $53,000 be approved, and that the gazebo sign project at an estimated cost of $90,000 be removed.

That the agenda item summary from Lore Schick, Deputy Corporate Officer/Executive Assistant, dated March 19, 2021, regarding City Parks cost sharing, be received. Further action at the discretion of the Committee.
